Hailing from Marc Collin (Volga Select, Ollano, Les Pétroleuse)'s roster of new talents, Sir Alice's contributions to high-profile projects such as Nouvelle Vague or Avril's second coming Members Only have already caused quite a stir. Her live performances are a hectic mixture of punk-rock stamina, cabaret and art-contemporain performance. Alice released her debut 12" in May 2004 on Tigersushi records to be followed up by a CD EP in June and a fully-fledged debut release in September 2004. Alice's pedigree is somewhat extraordinary, what with her two vocations as IRCAM music scientist and R 'n' R powermonger colliding into one of the year's most endearing soundclashes. If there ever was a thin line between braindance à la Rephlex (Leila) and abrasive punk rock (Métal Urbain), she's the one walking it - with unprecedented mastery. At only 23, her past achievements include the usual involvement with an angst-ridden guitar band as well as several compositions for art-contemporain artists - among whom a variety were showcased recently in Belgium at Vooruit. A series of portraits sonores as well as, of course, the material released on Tigersushi. Her live performances are based on a live PA engineered by recording studio guru Emmanuel Deruty and integrates several acting scenes interspersed with the music.
